Monica Barone is an Italian dancer, performer and visual artist. She was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1972. She graduated from the Paolo Toschi Art Institute and from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.

Lianne Quigley

Artist

Lianne Quigley is a Deaf artist and activist based in Ireland. She works as a performer, director, writer and collaborating artist, often utilising Irish Sign Language (ISL) to express narratives and experiences. She is also an ISL tour guide and she has worked with the Project Arts Centre and other arts organisations to look at ways of expanding opportunities for Deaf artists and audiences.

Valasia Simeon

Artist

Valasia Simeon is a dance artist, choreographer, and movement educator focusing on inclusive practices. She is a graduate of the National School of Dance in Athens and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia in Greece. She then continued her studies by attending the postgraduate program in choreography at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands, where her research focused on the relation of dance to visual arts through diverse media, including objects and design practices.

Dodzi Dougban

Dodzi Dougban, born in 1979, is a Deaf dancer and performer who grew up in Recklinghausen, Germany. He is Deaf from birth.

On a dark stage, there is a single human figure bent forward. The person wears a light-colored shirt (white or pale gray) and dark shorts or trousers. They are holding and pressing their face into a large piece of red fabric, soft and layered with flowing ruffles, similar to tulle or chiffon, which falls toward the floor. The dominant colors are the bright red of the fabric and the black or deep blue of the background. A focused theatrical light illuminates the figure and the fabric, creating strong contrast. No other objects are visible; the mood feels intimate and dramatic.
