Dan Daw: EXXY

Date: December 11, 2025 - December 13, 2025
Location: Germany

The image shows a dancer in mid-air, leaping dynamically against a plain grey background. He is wearing black underwear and an open, flowing cream-colored silk robe that flares out as he moves. His chest and arms are covered in large, colorful tattoos, including a prominent skull design on his torso. Below him is a white sheet spread across what appears to be a bed or low platform. The overall impression is one of strength, vulnerability, and expressive motion.

About the show

EXXY is a powerful, personal journey about self-worth, belonging, and grappling with one’s own success. Queer, disabled choreographer and performer Dan Daw looks back, after a celebrated world tour, at his beginnings in the Australian outback – shaped by working-class roots, outsider status, and the feeling of never being enough. With bold openness and tender vulnerability, EXXY tells of imposter syndrome and the pressure to stay at the top. Together with three performers who walk and speak like him, Dan finds new strength – and a moving image of arriving at oneself.
